2015 Educational Congress

Elevating therapeutic massage & bodywork education

Join us for the 1st 2015 Educational Congress

hosted by The Alliance for Massage Therapy Education and the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation

Our mission: To foster dialogue, inquiry, and creative problem-solving between and among organizations and individuals involved in massage therapy and bodywork education. We will provide opportunities to become informed about critical issues affecting our health industry, gather information, enhance teaching skills, and network.

Our intention: Is to gather a critical mass of educators and facilitate co-location of meeting space for various organizations to gather and collaborate. Organizations are encouraged to hold board meetings, offer content for Congress participants, report to the Congress on the current status of that organization, and receive public comment and feedback.

The 2015 Educational Congress meetings will take place over 8 days July 21-28 with the main portion of the conference with exhibition hall will only be July 23, 24, and 25. The event will be held at The Commons Hotel in Minneapolis, MN located on the University of Minnesota Campus.

Call 800-822-6757 (MPLS) or 612-379-8888 and ask for the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education 2015 group.

This idea of having an educational congress was inspired by the voices within the massage therapy education community. The journey began with a discussion at the 2013 Florida State Massage Therapy Association with the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation and the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education and it has now grown into an event with nine organizations collaborating and continuing to expand daily.

To date the organizations that are participating by holding a board meeting during the conference are:( the links are next to the names)

American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) www.aobta.org

Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals www.abmp.com/

American Massage Therapy Association www.amtamassage.org/

Although we will have meetings throughout the eight days July 21-28, the main portion of the conference with an exhibitor hall will be July 23-25. Exhibitor spaces are limited so please review the Exhibitor/Sponsor Prospectus and return completed paperwork as soon as possible. Spaces are first come first serve.

This is the first time such a large collaboration of Massage and Bodywork stakeholders will be gathered together in one location to foster dialogue, inquiry, and creative problem-solving involved in massage therapy and body work education.
