A properly functioning lymphatic system is critical to one's ability to detoxify and regenerate tissues and filter out toxins. The lymph vessel system is an intricate component of the lymphatic system, which also includes the lymphatic organs, thymus, spleen and tonsils. The lymph vessels focus on drainage and transport of interstitial fluid, along with various substances contained within , into the venous blood circulation. Manual Lymph Drainage, MLD, improves and restores an impaired lymph drainage process. To apply these therapeutic methods successfully, the therapist must master the anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the lymphatic system and the use of subtle manual maneuvers and an applied pressure of no more than five grams, or the weight of a nickel. MLD boasts a long list of benefits and has proven to be a profoundly useful tool in preventative health maintenance - reduction of edemas, full-body detoxification, tissue regeneration, chronic and subacute inflammation reduction, venous condition improvements, symptom relief with migraines, certain cancers, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and insomnia among them. This comprehensive introduction weekend will prepare therapists to offer a full MLD session or simply incorporate small aspects of the work into their existing routines. The beauty of MLD is that it offers therapists both result-driven alternatives and a reprieve from more laborious modalities without compromising effectiveness or value. FREE Professional Ethics Course: Friday, 9AM-Noon Workshop Hours: Friday, 1-6PM and Saturday/Sunday, 9AM-6PM
