This dynamic, highly experiential course will use a combination of discussion, group exercises, and role playing to address ethics?principles of human conduct guided by positive, right or good intent?for massage therapists and bodyworkers. Using the NCBTMB Code of Ethics as a guide, this course will cover scope of practice and legal guidelines, cultural diversity, professional boundaries, client/therapist confidentiality, financial issues (such as fair billing practices), professionalism, and conflict resolution. You will satisfy your professional ethics requirement for both North Carolina licensure renewal and NCBTMB re-certification in three quick, inspirational, and informative hours. Upon completion of this course, you will: ~Be able to define the function and purpose of professional boundaries, in order to create a safe and respectful environment for the practice of massage and bodywork therapy. ~Be able to identify the role and responsibilities of the practitioner in the therapist/client relationship. ~Understand established standards of professional behavior. ~Know how to represent yourself and your profession accurately, using appropriate professional designations and descriptions.
