Lymphatic Drainage Massage (LDM) is a specialized form of medical massage that has powerful cleansing, relaxing, pain relieving and immunological effects. It is a gentle, flowing, rhythmic massage and can be applied to a wide range of physical conditions to great effect. Its specialized gentle pumping technique can be used to treat edema and improve lymph drainage and overall immune function. Lynn's approach combines three different styles of lymphatic drainage: Superficial Lymph-The Lymphatic Rhythm Application: The majority of lymphatic congestion occurs in the superficial tissues. This approach is light and slow, either to mimic the flow or tune into the rhythm of the system with a gentle influence. Manual Lymph Drainage Mimicking the Rhythm of the Lymphatic System: Lymph node (manual) pumping is used to clear the lymph nodes for more efficient clearing prior to any drainage technique. Deep Lymphatics of the Intestines: These techniques decongest the small and large intestines to improve the superficial lymphatic drainage flow.
