Call for Candidates

The AFMTE is the only membership organization dedicated to shaping the future of massage therapy education. Its collective vision and voice provide vital support and guidance.

What is your vision for the future of our profession? Are you ready to join with other leaders and make a tangible contribution to the education of the next generation of massage therapists? If so, there are seats at the table for you either on the Board of Directors or the Leadership Development Committee.

Please give some thought to joining like-minded colleagues who share your passion for massage therapy education. Lend your heart, your vision, and your enthusiasm in shaping a promising future for our profession.

2024 Election Info

The Leadership Development Committee (LDC) is charged with finding strong candidates to serve the Alliance as Board members and members of the LDC. Are you interested in being considered for a position on the Board or the LDC? Service to the Alliance gives back to the massage therapy community and contributes to your own personal and professional development.

Apply for Consideration as a Candidate to the Board

To be eligible for a Board position, you – or the organization you are representing – must be an Alliance member in good standing. Members in all categories: School, Continuing Education Provider, Teacher/Administrator, Allied, or Supporter, are invited to apply. In addition to completing the application form, please include a current resumé or CV. Submit applications and resumes by April 15.

AFMTE Board Openings

The Bylaws state that the Board of Directors is to consist of 7-10 members. Currently, there are 8 individuals serving. One Board position from past years that was vacated when the member needed to resign was not filled. That term was due to expire this year. Directors Re-Applying

Kim Alexander and Vicki Winston have terms ending in September 2024. They both intend to re-apply for a position on the slate.

AFMTE Leadership Development Committee Openings

The LDC works to cultivate and recruit members for standing and ad hoc committees, advises the board, and also serves as the nomination committee by recruiting, interviewing, and recommending a slate of candidates to serve as Board Members and LDC Members.
The LDC has historically had five members elected by the membership. There are three positions open for election at this time. If you are interested in serving on the LDC, click on this link and email your resume to ldc@afmte.org.
