Save the Date! 2017 Biennial Educational Congress Announced

Elevating therapeutic massage & bodywork education

The Alliance for Massage Therapy Education (AFMTE) announced today details regarding the next Biennial Educational Congress. The 2017 theme is “Elevating Standards of Excellence.” The second Educational Congress will take place over five days at the end of July 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. In addition to the pre- and post-conference events, the exhibit hall, keynote, and general and breakout sessions are scheduled for July 27, 28, and 29. “Our mission remains diligent: To foster dialogue, inquiry, and creative problem-solving between and among organizations and individuals involved in massage therapy and bodywork education” stated Nancy Dail, Conference Planning Committee Chair.

The idea of a Congress was originally inspired by by members of the massage therapy and bodywork education community, who desire to have one event where representatives from every organization connected with massage therapy and bodywork education could gather to share, collaborate, and  discuss together the critical issues affecting our industry, exchanges information, enhance teaching skills, and network.

The first Educational Congress in 2015 set a record for the best attended massage and bodywork educators event in history.  “We have set high goals for 2017 and created a variety of options for networking, collaboration, and participation,” says Cherie Sohnen-Moe, President of AFMTE. “Educational Congress sponsors and exhibitors are an integral and vital part of the massage and bodywork community, and are encouraged to be active in all aspects of the events because they have such valuable information and ideas to contribute to raising the standard of education,“ adds Sohnen-Moe.

The AFMTE Conference Planning Committee is accepting presenter applications for consideration; be sure to visit 2017 Educational Congress Website page today for all details and opportunities.
